I am a senior at the University of Alabama in Huntsville pursuing a degree in physics with a concentration in astronomy and astrophysics, and a data science certificate program. My interest is in gravitational waves, black holes, and cosmology. I was born and raised in Japan. I grew up in a city where I could see so many stars in the night sky, and that is how I got interested in astronomy. I spent two and a half years at University of North Alabama (UNA) and transferred to the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). At UNA, I did a few observational astronomy researches. At UAH I was in Space Hardware Club where my team made CanSat (a small satellite) in the fall of 2022. During this summer, I will be working on research about a galaxy and a super-massive black hole at UAH. After receiving my bachelor’s degree, I plan on attending graduate school and pursuing astrophysics. Outside of academics, I do volunteer work at a Japanese garden in Monte Sano State Park to keep the garden organized and share Japanese culture at an event.
