This was another fun week at APS Careers! I feel like I’m really making an impact on the community and am loving being around fellow physicists that care so deeply about helping the physics community progress and thrive.
Week 3 is over? It feels like we are speeding through these weeks. With the end of week three, I am done condensing biographies (at least for now) and am moving along to writing some myself.
I have to say I’m sad I won’t be meeting my peers this summer because we have so much fun at our online hangouts. It’s amazing how much a fun game can bring people together even when they’re miles apart.
Although my blogs the first two weeks were not very insightful, I do actually have a real job at APS. My job for the summer was to update the APS Top Educators lists and Physics Graphs & Statistics. All in all, lots of working in Excel.
My third week of the internship is proving eventful. I have done more testing with my airbrush, including applying isopropyl alcohol instead of water as a solvent for salt.
Pedantic is one way to put it. This week, I learned that every detail counts, and that scientists are not afraid to call someone out when they believe a statement is wrong.
