Aysen Tunca Memorial Scholarship
I am a second-degree bachelors student at University of Maine studying Physics and Mathematics. My research interests are in detection methods and data science for experiments characterized by low signal-to-noise ratios, such as dark matter searches, gravitational wave detection, and experimental particle physics.
I am currently involved in research with the Frontier Institute of Research in Sensor Technologies (FIRST) and the The Computational Modeling, Analysis of Imagery and Numerical Experiments (CompuMAINE) labs at University of Maine, as well as the Computational Sciences Initiative at Brookhaven National Laboratory.
My goal as a researcher is to take a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to experimental design to form a better understanding of how information flows and is transformed as it travels from our detectors to our computer screens.
