Brooke Adams

Biography

I am a senior at the Florida Institute of Technology dual majoring in Physics and Space Sciences. I got involved in SPS my second semester here, being brought on as an honorary officer to put up fliers and help with emails. I progressed to secretary from there, and then president for the last two years. I have made it my goal to make our chapter more academically-inclined, meaning we have attended several more conferences, conducted our own mini-experiments, and held informal info sessions about scholarships, internships, and graduate school. Outside of SPS, I worked in the Geospace Physics Lab for a year before switching to my current research with Dr. Petit, studying magnetic fields of massive OB type stars. I plan on graduating in the fall and looking for a career in government or industry. After a few years (and after pinpointing what kind of research I want to do) I will go to graduate school for my Master's and PhD.
