There is no end to the exploration in D.C.! This past weekend we spent time walking through both the Freer Gallery of Art and Arlington National Cemetery. I was amazed by how many floors fit beneath the Freer Gallery!

My first week as an SPS Intern has been a whirlwind of new and exciting things as well as a blast of jet lag, culture shock, and some mild climate changes. DC has been a great experience all around; from the awesome food to the Memorial Day Parade I have had great experiences exploring the city.

I can’t believe it’s already been a month since the end of the SPS internship program! Looking back on my experiences, I’m struck by how much I learned – both about myself and about what it’s like to work at a national lab.
