Before writing anything, I want to mention that I am currently writing this blog post while sitting on the edge of the Lincoln memorial with two other interns, watching the sunset.
It’s week 1! Every day has something new to offer. On Monday, I learned that the White House is next to a whole assortment of monuments and museums, which are all within walking distance of the dorms.
Hello everyone, it is an end to a fantastic first week! On Tuesday, we had orientation, and I met a new group of intelligent individuals. I made new connections and friendships that I look forward to exploring for the rest of the internship.
Hi, my name is Justin Andre L. Avendano, you can call me Justin for short. This week I started my job as the Society of Rheology/Soft Matter Kitchen Intern for the summer over at AIP.
This week has been a whirlwind of new experiences. After moving in on Sunday with the help of my awesome parents, I started meeting many of the other interns. From the beginning, everyone was really friendly and open. On Monday, many of us went to a Memorial Day parade, which was great fun.
I am writing this only a few hours after having come to Washington D.C. and the George Washington campus, with most of my belongings still in my luggage.
The Honda went through the gamut the week before I drove to Washington. To make sure everything was as it should be, I replaced the car's tires, poured in fresh oil, and asked the mechanics for a fine look-over.
