I spent Saturday running errands. Sunday was a little more exciting. I went to a bouldering gym with a few of the SPS interns and met an intern working in an international justice department. We all ended up going out to sushi together, meeting up with more SPS interns for an all-you-can-eat sushi dinner. I ended up joining the gym on my next visit.

This has been the busiest week thus far. On Saturday, several interns and I headed to Hubble STEMFest for an outreach event.

The Zone 11 meeting, hosted by South Dakota School of Mines & Technology (SDSM&T), will give all Zone 11 chapters a chance to connect with fellow chapters, visit the Sanford Underground Research Facility, and visit historical Mt. Rushmore. NOTE: Registration fees will be collected at the door.

Woohoo!  First week in D.C.!  This week has been surreal.  I met a Nobel Laureate, talked with members of the SPS leadership, and started working at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.  After flying in to D.C. on Saturday, I met up with some interns and went out to see the city.

Hello! I'm Shauna LeFebvre, and I'm this year's SPS SOCK/NIST Education intern. Just to let you know a little about myself, I am a rising senior at Union College. Along with a major in physics, I plan on pursuing minors in mathematics and ancient Greek. When you can't find me working in the physics department, I am probably playing saxophone in the jazz or pep band or helping with my Minerva house (my school has 7 Minerva houses that put on events for the campus community). But enough about me.Testing the Waters
