Last Friday after work all the interns, except Fiona who hadn’t arrived yet, went to the Symphony. It was aconcert of the National Symphony Orchestra with David Hardy on the cello. I got to sit on the side with the harp. I couldn’t see super well, but the harpist was amazing.

Like the previous weekends, I took things pretty slow. With all of the outreach events we'd done, I definitely needed some time to sleep in and catch up with friends and family, do laundry, get groceries, play Counter-Strike, etc etc.

I took the 12th of July pretty slow; slept in, made a big breakfast, and didn't leave the apartment until about 1pm. I headed out to the International Spy Museum, which was quite fun!

After the 4th of July, I stayed close to home, skyped with my family, and did laundry and such. Nothing too eventful!

The weekend was fairly uneventful for me, which is a good thing. I definitely needed some time to take a breather, sleep, finish chores around the apartment, etc... I did go to the Air and Space Museum on Sunday, but it was super packed (which is normal, from what I'm told).

This past weekend was super fun! I went to go see Speakers of the House, a Baltimore boogaloo (aka, funk) group at Jazz in the Garden. Even though I got there a little late, I managed to snag a spot right by the stage!

I had a very green weekend! Kirsten and I visited the National Arboretum on Saturday and it was incredible.

This week has focused on testing out new demonstrations for the SOCK, planning for our classroom visit, and lots of networking! Monday was mainly taken up with writing up some new explanations for our demos, as well as figuring out what to take to the 3rd grade outreach event.

This week was just about all dedicated to preparing for the final presentations for the intern symposium. Monday morning all of the interns went on a tour of the Pentagon. I thought it was really interesting. We had a great tour guide who was very enthusiastic and informative.

I have mixed emotions about this week. It has been a very fun-filled week. It has also been a sad week because it was the last week of the middle school science teachers summer institute. I have developed a strong relationship with the teachers and I am sad to see them go.
